Jewelry discovery of the Day: Bea Bongiasca
In this new series, I’ll be presenting you a jewelry creator, jewelry brand, or jewelry designer every single day. Today it’s all about the fun jewelry world of Bea Bongiasca!
Bea Bongiasca is a Milan-based jewelry designer who clearly loves pop culture. She is big on color and mixes her ideas and fantasy with her real-life experiences of traveling to East- Asia. Bea has completed a Jewellery Design BA at the prestigious Central Saint Martins.
Here is what I love about BEA BONGIASCA’s jewelry
The collection looks fresh. But most of all; it sparks joy. It’s a colorful world, but somehow you are not feeling she is overdoing this fun and color. It looks wearable. The collection is made to feel and fit comfortably. Even if the No Rice- No Life collection is just a little bit bigger, it seems all smooth and easy to wear.
Sometimes wearability is whatever we make of it. High heels are for some people very wearable. As I get older, I find them harder to wear and I just don’t want to suffer ;-)
The same goes for jewelry. Sometimes we love to wear something chunky and precious, sometimes we just want to be able to wear it even when doing groceries. This jewelry pictured in this blog looks mostly like it can adapt to everyday wear easily. Prices range from €300,00 to a few thousand euros. The gold is actually 9ct gold. That makes it more affordable yet 9ct gold jewelry isn’t considered ‘gold jewelry’ in many countries. So you pay less for the material, but the material is less precious too.
BEA IS A DESIGNER AND YOU NOTICE IT AT ONCE
Bea, having gained her BA at the Central Saint Martins college is obviously a jewelry designer. Go for Bea if you love design, if you love the fun part of her ideas, if you love to have a colorful, pop culture inspired piece of easy to wear jewelry. Don’t go for it if silver jewelry isn’t your thing and you can’t appreciate jewelry made with less than 18ct gold.
(ps. but do go for it, though!)
