Teen becomes a multi millionaire: a jewelry business that pays off!

By Esther Ligthart on Thursday, 30 January 2014, in Stories

Bella Weems has become a multi millionaire and she is just 17. How did she do it? The story she tells is that her parents gave her NO for an answer when at just 14 she asked them to buy a car for her. Instead they challenged her to earn her own money and start a business.

Just a few years later Origami Owl, Bella Weems business, is expected to have a turn over of $250.000.000 and employs around 700 people. The concept? Customized custom jewelry bars. Imagine a tupperware party, but then with a group of people that build their own jewelry with charms, lockets, dangles, plates and necklaces. Check out this video of ABC news that went to cover Bella Weems succes story.

Oh and....yes, she did buy that car and named it Alice ;-)
