TIER, a must-see exhibition of the Dutch Taxidermy duo Darwin, Sinke & van Tongeren!

The TIER exhibition of Darwin, Sinke & van Tongeren and Armando is held at the MOA Museum, situated in a lovely park just outside Utrecht. The park and the museum are beautiful, the area is so green and a magnificent example of the age of Enlightenment and worth a visit even without this wonderful exhibition, but as I am huge fan and deeply intrigued by the work of the Dutch taxidermists artistic displays, I did not want to miss the opportunity to see their artwork with animals from up close!

Darwin, Sinke & van Tongeren, taxidermy becomes true art.

One of my favorite interior design magazines, Residence, featured an article about Darwin, Sinke & Van Tongeren. Two guys that were into advertising, sold the business and became: taxidermists. A profession that seems to divide people into two groups. Either you like it, or detest it. But what this Dutch couple, much loved by Damien Hirst, tries to do, is so unique that even the skeptical are in awe of their creations. Let’s see why!

Spring jewelry, come hear the birds sing

It is still freezing outside, when we wake up early morning in this part of the world. It’s almost more cold now than during this past winter. But something has changed and it was a few weeks ago that I felt my heart almost make a little leap of joy. The first bird sang in the early evening hour. It was a black bird…and even if it was still too cold, I opened my doors to the garden and sat there, listening.
