Accident causes a new career in jewelry

This week I read about Kristin Wood. She was a busy lady selling wine to restaurants and shops in 2010. Then one night she had a seizure during driving. She suffered epilepsy but apparently did not suffered seizures for a long time. The result? She drove into a lamppost and this accident broke her pelvis bone.

During her recovery, her mother dug up her old sketchbooks. And it helped her to feel engaged and creative again. Somehow between being very busy and not giving that part of herself attention anymore, she lost her interest in sketching and all. But although feeling very scared she did try to sketch jewelry and even make a big change in her life; she became a designer and produces her own jewelry now at her home studio.

I read this story in Oprah magazine. For any product or company to be profiled in Oprah’s magazine is always a good thing. Not just the exposure but also the credibility of anything mentioned by Oprah does wonders for business. I was interested because I always like to learn what drove someone to start designing jewelry and I like specials

The materials she uses are leather, brass, shark teeth and much more…You can check out her designs on: www.kopiousjewelrycollection.com
