Want to feel like a princess too? The lovely princess Nejla Bint Asem of Jordan helped created a jewelry like for Damas. A surprisingly light and playful collection, with turquoise dominating the small collection. Unfortunately, it’s only available at the Dubai Mall.
Jewelry inspired by Amman
When she says she draw her inspiration from her days as a child walking in Amman and how she dreamed about the semi-precious stones she saw in shops, I can kind of see it.
Impressed with Jordan
In 2007 I was myself in Amman and I was deeply impressed. I loved the people, the atmosphere, the contrast between certain areas. I fell in love with the Wadi Rum, swam in the Dead Sea and saw the Treasury in Petra at the best hour of the day. We visited friends of my hubby, both veterinarians too, but specializing in horses. She worked for the stables of one of the princesses and this is how, one day, I visited these stables. I never ever saw such horses in my entire life. The most incredibly beautiful and relaxed horses, even the foals were calm and curious.
Princess Nejla and her grandmother
Princess Nejla tells about how she spent time with her grandmother discussing jewelry and how she wanted to recreate what her grandmother described as the most memorable pieces.
My personal view on this princess jewelry collection:
The collection may not be surprising perhaps, but it is an easy to wear, elegant collection of jewelry. Great for any woman, but even more so, for the younger public wanting something that is both cool, chic and hip. The connection with the princess can add a little extra for those who love this idea. It is a little bit of a fairytale idea, I suppose, but it is a nice story. I wouldn’t have covered it if I didn’t like it :-)
