Vicenzaoro September 2026: What’s New and What to See

VicenzaOro EntranceVicenzaoro September 2026 will open its new Hall 2, bringing T.Gold into the main exhibition center and hosting CIBJO’s centenary congress. Jewelry journalist and content creator Esther Ligthart shares what is changing, what she looks forward to seeing, and why this edition feels particularly significant.

Why I Am Especially Excited About Vicenzaoro September 2026

I have been visiting Vicenzaoro since the 1990s, first in various commercial roles within the jewelry industry and, since 2013, as a blogger and journalist. I have seen the show grow, become increasingly international, and, over the past four editions, find clever ways to operate around a major construction project.

Those temporary solutions worked surprisingly well, but they always felt temporary and inevitably took something away from the overall experience. This September, that chapter finally comes to an end, and I cannot wait to see the result.

Vicenzaoro returns from September 4 to 8, 2026. The new Hall 2 will officially open, T.Gold will move into the main exhibition grounds, and CIBJO will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a four-day congress.

There is a lot to look forward to, perhaps even more than usual. I already know it will be an intense few days, because Vicenzaoro has a habit of filling every possible minute with jewelry, conversations, discoveries, and unexpected encounters. Still, I am genuinely counting down the days.

The temporary era is over

The opening of the new two-story Hall 2 is an important moment for Vicenzaoro.

During the construction period, the organizers developed intelligent, surprisingly elegant solutions to keep the show running. Yet when you are trying to navigate a large trade fair, temporary routes, corridors and structures inevitably affect the way you experience it.

The new Hall 2 will become the physical center of the exhibition. Connected to the other halls by covered walkways, it should make moving between Vicenzaoro’s different communities considerably easier.

Visitors at TGold

Hall 2 will house the Creation community, which brings together jewelry manufacturers and suppliers of components, mountings, chains, clasps, semi-finished products and white-label jewelry. The upper floor will be home to Expression, the community dedicated to packaging, displays, visual merchandising and retail design.

This is clearly a practical improvement, but it also represents something larger. Vicenzaoro has always aimed to represent the entire jewelry supply chain, and with the opening of Hall 2 and the arrival of T.Gold inside the main venue, that promise will finally become much more visible.

High jewelry, manufacturing, gemstones, technology, packaging, and retail services will all be connected in a single exhibition center. I have no illusions that I will suddenly stop getting lost, because getting slightly lost is almost part of the Vicenzaoro experience, but at least I should now be able to do so without leaving the fairgrounds.

Why the move of T.Gold matters

T.Gold is where jewelry production, technology, and innovation come together.

It presents the machinery, software, materials and production systems that make modern jewelry manufacturing possible. This includes 3D printing, additive manufacturing, laser technology, casting, automation, quality control, precious-metal recovery and more sustainable production methods.

Until now, T.Gold was located in Hall 9, outside the main exhibition grounds. On paper, it was only a 10- or 15-minute walk away, but in practice, the route crossed a busy intersection and was not particularly pleasant. There was a shuttle bus, although that could be full, leaving you waiting for the next one.

At Vicenzaoro, where every conversation lasts slightly longer than planned, and someone inevitably calls your name from the opposite aisle, this was never a minor detour. Visiting T.Gold required time that many visitors simply did not have, and I certainly did not go there as often as I should have.

From September, T.Gold will have a permanent place in Hall 4 and will be part of both the January and September editions of Vicenzaoro. More than 170 international companies are expected to present technologies for the jewelry and watchmaking industries.

This may be the change I welcome most, because technology deserves to be part of the main conversation. New tools influence what designers can create, how manufacturers work, how quickly collections can be produced, and how responsibly valuable materials can be recovered and reused. Especially (but not only) in geopolitically challenging times, when the prices of gold and silver are constantly breaking records, leaving makers with the challenge of continually innovating to safeguard pricing.

The Jewellery Technology Forum on September 7 will focus on additive manufacturing and its impact on design, production and the luxury industry. I fully intend to spend more time at T.Gold this year, so please tell me which companies or technologies I should not miss.

CIBJO celebrates 100 years

Another rather important guest at Vicenzaoro will be CIBJO, the World Jewellery Confederation, which is celebrating its centenary by bringing more than 400 delegates to Vicenza for four days of meetings and panel discussions.

Reaching the age of 100 deserves considerably more than a birthday cake, although I sincerely hope there will be one. The congress will address international standards, sustainability, corporate responsibility, regulatory developments and responsible sourcing.

It will also include updates to CIBJO’s Blue Books, the international reference documents covering diamonds, colored gemstones, pearls, precious metals, coral, gemological laboratories and responsible sourcing.

I will attend several of the sessions and am looking forward to hearing what will be discussed. CIBJO’s work may not always be the most visible part of the jewelry world, but its standards and terminology influence how the industry operates, describes products and communicates with consumers.

A 100th anniversary naturally encourages us to look back, but I am more interested in what comes next. How does an organization with a century of history define its role at the start of its second century? I hope to come back with many answers!

The jewelry, naturally

Of course, I am looking forward to the jewelry itself. Very much so. It's what is always so exciting. Still!

Vicenzaoro’s ICON community will once again bring together established high jewelry brands, including Damiani, Roberto Coin, Crivelli, Schreiner Fine Jewellery, FOPE, Nanis, Palmiero and Picchiotti. I am also pleased to see Pasquale Bruni returning to the show this September.

The Design Room is always high on my list because it offers a concentrated view of designers who approach jewelry through craftsmanship, culture and experimentation. This edition will include names such as Alessio Boschi, Mattia Cielo, Karen Suen, Misani and Vicky Shaw.

Still, some of my favorite Vicenzaoro moments happen when I am not standing in front of a name I already know. They happen when I discover a designer for the first time, see a technology that solves a problem I did not know could be solved, or find myself in a conversation that begins with a piece of jewelry and ends somewhere entirely unexpected.

That is when a trade show becomes much more than rows of stands and very tired feet. It is also why, after all these years, I still feel that unmistakable sense of anticipation before returning.

Looking ahead with Paola De Luca

Another session I never want to miss is the presentation of *The Jewellery Trendbook 2028+* by my friend and highly respected industry forecaster Paola De Luca, Creative Director and Co-Founder of TRENDVISION Jewellery + Forecasting.

Paola looks far beyond the colors, shapes and materials we may see next. Her work examines the geopolitical, economic, social, cultural and technological developments that influence consumer behavior and our understanding of luxury.

Her presentations offer designers, retailers, manufacturers and marketers a wider view of where the jewelry industry may be heading. I usually leave with pages of notes and at least five new subjects I suddenly feel I must investigate immediately.

This is not especially helpful for my tendency to find almost everything interesting, but it is one of the many reasons I value her presentations so much.

Is Vicenzaoro open to the public?

Vicenzaoro itself is primarily a business-to-business trade show for professionals working in the jewelry, gemstone, watch, and related industries. Access to the main exhibition therefore requires professional registration or accreditation.

Part of the event is open to the public. VO Vintage, taking place from September 4 to 7 in Hall 8.1, welcomes collectors and enthusiasts as well as specialist dealers. It focuses on vintage watches and jewelry and includes talks, meetings with experts, and opportunities to see pieces offered by selected dealers.

So, the short answer is: Vicenzaoro is partially open to the public, but the main jewelry trade show remains a professional B2B event.

Back into the Vicenzaoro whirlwind

After attending Vicenzaoro for more than three decades, I still look forward to returning, and that says something about the show.

I know the days will be long, my schedule will be too ambitious, and some of my best conversations will happen when I am already late for something else. Yet I also know that Vicenzaoro is one of the best places to understand what is happening across the international jewelry industry.

This September feels particularly special. As a long construction period ends, the entire supply chain will be more closely connected, T.Gold will finally be within easy reach, and CIBJO will celebrate an extraordinary milestone.

I am ready to step back into the whirlwind.

Now I would love to hear from you. Who should I visit at Vicenzaoro September 2026? Which designers, brands, technologies, or new companies deserve a place on my list?
