It's true. I LOVE silver jewelry! The color is lovely, but the material itself invites the jewelry designers to be very playful or bold. Or keep it simple and low-key if you are more into the modest style, but still love the preciousness of the metal.
What I love about silver also is the fact that it is affordable. I know, it all depends on your wallet and what you consider affordable, but in gold, the same design would have cost a lot more.
Silver looks good on everyone! (although I prefer rhodinated silver myself - I am allergic to non-rhodinated silver, unfortunately)
There is also the option for blackened silver, enameled silver, or just plain 925 silver :-)
