One of the things that I adore about jewelry is the fact that it is treasured all over the world, ever since humanity can remember. It has played a big role in many traditions, religions, cultural histories.

The world of jewelry is one full of symbolism and meaning. For weddings, for religion, for showing your position in the world. It’s just a few of the meanings, but behind that we find an entire world of symbolism, related to the gemstones, the pearls, the material of the metals that are used. This is what makes jewelry precious, the symbolism or the moment it is given to you for example, to remember the birth of a child, or just out of plain love or friendship. And the moment you bought your first piece of *real* jewelry just for you!

There are people that believe in the healing properties of gemstones. And there are people that are so superstitious that they would never wear a certain color or stone. I am always fascinated to hear the stories of people and love to just observe. I hear them, without judging or without being biased. I am not superstitious myself and very down to earth, I personally am drawn to the idea behind the gift. When my hubby gave me a small silver necklace and told me the story behind it ( it was made to raise money and awareness for a project with children in Africa, something close to my heart) I was moved and I treasure it.

But I have always adored the stories of people of all parts of the world and how they perceive things, or when they tell me about their culture.

So that brought me to this blog about organic jewelry. To be extremely honest with you, it is not my personal favorite. And there is of course, organic and organic...I mean, some jewelry has a stylish but very wearable interpretation of organic. Whilst others go all the way and are made with unusual materials, or with very raw stones. Now all of this can be attractive but also sometimes a bit too much of concept, too artistic where I feel that the creator did not think about basic things like wearability or pleasant to look at.
And that I personally...well, I am not drawn to it.

But at the same time, there is a lot of interest in this kind of jewelry. And for a good reason too. I have chosen here today some pieces that are just fantastic. I have pushed my own borders here and there to give you a broader perspective, but also to train myself in keeping an open mind. I like to think I am open minded, but I do catch myself having prejudice here and there. And I also thought about you, my dear reader, who might like to explore and might just adore this kind of jewelry. Rather than all those animal pieces of jewelry or the glitz and glam of some pieces.

So enjoy and let me if you have a favorite, or know some designer that I never heard of perhaps, but that makes incredible jewelry.
Go with the flow!
